The Newton based law firm of Grossman & Associates, Ltd. is a successor to Grossman & Grossman, a Boston firm founded in 1989 with a philosophy of personal service through responsive, innovative and thorough legal services. As clients referred their friends and family, the reputation of the firm spread, enabling the firm to open a suburban office in 1999, then grow into larger offices in Newton, where results, accessibility and parking are key attractions.  A Nantucket office was added in 2009.

Hindell Straus Grossman is the firm’s owner and manager. Admitted to all courts in Massachusetts, she has litigation experience in state and federal courts. Hindell has successfully negotiated, litigated and arbitrated for clients. Several of her successes have been published in Massachusetts Lawyer’s Weekly and she has been featured in the Needham Tab, Boston Business Journal and the Boston Globe. She has been trained in the Collaborative Law process. Hindell has been a licensed attorney in Massachusetts since 1985. She started her legal career with a small Boston firm and started her own Boston firm four years later.

Hindell has been active in both the business and Jewish communities. She participated in the first international collaboration between the Boston Chamber of Commerce and the Montreal Board of Trade. She was a regular speaker for the Canadian Consulate to Canadian business owners interested in doing business in Massachusetts; a lecturer for National Business Institute, Inc.; a panelist for the Small Business Administration; a speaker on business banking; and a panelist for the Boston Bar Association.

For many years Hindell has been co-President of B’nai B’rith Realty Unit, whose members include New England’s most distinguished real estate men and women. She is a long-standing board member of Covenant House in Brighton, Massachusetts which provides affordable senior citizen housing. Hindell is also a fundraiser, a donor to various causes and a Hospitality Host to families needing medical treatment.

Hindell was raised in Rumson, New Jersey by parents in the retail clothing business. She attended Muhlenberg College and the University of Pennsylvania, and obtained her Juris Doctor from John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 1985.  Hindell lived in Newton for 14 years and presently lives in Brookline.  Her daughter, Ariel, graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2010 with a degree in Finance and is employed in the health care industry.  Her son, Micah, graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans.

The firm uses an assortment of other talented individuals to fulfill its objectives. It calls upon associate atorneys, paralegals, real estate appraisers and accountants when needed.



Suzana Urukalo is the firm’s Senior Associate. She is a licensed attorney in Massachusetts, Michigan, and Illinois, and admitted to practice law in all courts in Massachusetts and Michigan. She received her B.A. Hons. Degree from the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada and obtained her Juris Doctor from New England Law Boston. Suzana has over ten years of experience handling family law matters including: divorce; child custody, child support and prenuptial agreements. Suzana also has experience in real estate and bankruptcy law. Suzana interned with the Greater Boston Legal Services domestic abuse divorce department and has been involved with the Big Sisters of Boston Association.



Patryce Georgopoulos is the firm’s Senior Paralegal. She is a graduate of Fisher Jr. College and received her Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Northeastern University. She has over 22 years of experience in the legal field. She has been actively involved in the Massachusetts Paralegal Association and the National Association of Legal Administrators. Patryce is also a Notary Public of the Commonwealth of MA, serves on the Watertown Task Force for Heroin Abuse and Addiction; she also serves as an Ambassador to the Newton Needham Chamber of Commerce. Patryce is a United States Soccer Federation Referee and is actively involved in Boston Association Youth Soccer. Her family owned a Greek/American restaurant in Watertown for over 40 years of which 4 generations of family members have worked at.


Andrea Yavarow is the firm’s newest paralegal and notary. Andrea graduated Magna Cum Laude from Merrimack College in 2013, and while there tutored students in writing. Andrea is an experienced family law paralegal and was employed with a family law firm in North Reading from 2012 to 2015. She joined Grossman & Associates in June, 2015 and is a charming and enthusiastic addition to the firm. She resides in Norfolk, Massachusetts.
